Asylfestival er navnet på en uafhængig græsrodsgruppe af flygtninge, kunstnere og andre københavnere, som er i færd med at stable en asylfestival på benene fra den 23. til 25. april i Trampolinhuset, et brugerdrevet kulturhus for flygtninge, indvandrere og andre, som arbejder for en human flygtninge- og asylpolitik.

Festivalen sætter spot på Danmarks asylsystem og de udfordringer, det giver. Asylfestival glæder sig til at byde alle interesserede velkommen til tre dage med workshops, snak, debatter og høringer, filmvisninger, og folkekøkken. Arrangørernes ambition er at provokere til forandring, og at deltagerne skal netværke. Der er mange aktiviteter på festivalen og mange måder at blive involveret, så kom og vær med! opfordrer de.

Asylfestival ønsker at udvikle modstandsstrategier mod det undertrykkende danske asylsystem og at skabe en platform for ideudveksling ved at forbinde de mange forskellige grupper og enkeltpersoner, som på den ene eller anden måde arbejder med asylsystemet.

The Asylfestival team are super excited to invite you to three great days of workshops, talks, film screenings and lots more, all focused on challenging Denmark's asylum system.

Asylfestival was created by an independent group of refugees, activists, artists and volunteers based in Copenhagen, determined to develop strategies for resistance against the repressive Danish asylum system. We want to connect the many different groups and individuals working around asylum seeker and refugee issues in Denmark, so we can share ideas and learn from each other ways to break the system.

Asylfestival works at the intersection of activism and art. We believe in the power of people and human creativity and imagination. We’re also big believers of equal, respectful participation and helping everyone to express their point of view. We hope to start some important conversations, challenge our biases and assumptions, build new skills, and then shake it all out together at the end with a closing party.

We’re a grassroots group and a diverse bunch with big ideas. We’re really excited about Asylfestival and have worked really hard to put together a program that provokes change and builds networks. There are many events to choose from – film screenings, radio workshops, folk kitchen, talks and a public hearing – and lots of ways to get involved, so please join us!
